This brand new course aims to prepare you for all three modules of the Cambridge English Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT). It can also be used as a foundation course before any other teacher training course.

The main areas covered in this course are:

• Language and background to language learning and teaching
  • Terms and concepts of English language teaching
  • Factors underpinning the learning of English
  • A range of materials, tasks, and activities for English language teaching
• Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching
  • The knowledge and skills you need to plan lessons
  • The types of assessment and resources that can guide your lesson planning
• Managing the teaching and learning process
  • Teachers’ and learners’ language
  • Classroom management

Modes of Delivery

We currently offer two routes for this 30-hour course:

Route 1 – Intensive: for experienced teachers or teachers who have already attended any methodology or teacher training course.

Route 2 – Regular: is for participants with no teaching experience and who have never attended any teacher training or methodology courses before.

Both our Routes include TKT exam preparation sessions.

More about the TKT

• TKT shows how you are developing as a teacher. It is ideal for people who want to prove their teaching knowledge with a globally recognized certificate.
• TKT is a flexible series of modular teaching qualifications, which test your knowledge in specific areas of English language teaching. You can take as many modules as you want, over any time period. You receive a Cambridge English certificate for each module you complete.
• After taking TKT, you can take other Cambridge English teaching qualifications such as ICELT and Delta.
• TKT is at Foundation to Developing stages on the Cambridge English Teaching Framework.

This course is for:

• Native and non-native speakers of English at C1 or C2 level of proficiency who are interested in learning about teaching English
• Novice teachers of English who want to gain a solid theoretical background and learn about up-to-date methodologies
• English language teaching professionals who do not have enough time to attend other teacher training courses
• Experienced teachers of English who want to refresh their knowledge about language learning and teaching
