This workshop aims to help teachers become more effective and help their students become more effective learners. The focus is on Active Strategies.

In particular the workshop aims to address three practical questions:

• Vocabulary is the most important component in learning a language. How can we ensure that our students do not forget the words and phrases we teach them? (Vocabulary Revision Strategies)
• I am a learner. I want some easy ways to develop my language skills – quite apart from what happens in class. What should I do? (Simple and Easy Learner Strategies)
• I am a teacher. I have very little time. How do I prepare a useful lesson in zero time? (Preparation Time: Zero)
